We Did It: Rescue Revival Reaches Its First Major Milestone With Rebels For Rescue
Date Published
Rebels For Rescue Campaign Update
This past weekend is one we’ll never forget. Our Rebels for Rescue campaign experienced an outpouring of support that left our team overwhelmed with gratitude — and thrilled to share some incredible news:
Because of you, the Oxford Animal Resource Center will soon have UVC lighting to protect its animals and help them reach their forever homes faster.
We officially raised the funds needed to install UVC lighting in the Oxford Animal Resource Center.
This accomplishment is more than just a line item on a campaign tracker. UVC lighting is a life-changing upgrade for the animals in the ARC’s care. It will help reduce the spread of illness inside the shelter, keep pets healthier, and shorten the amount of time they spend waiting to be adoption-ready.
And it happened because of you.
A Weekend of Support We Never Could Have Imagined
As we look back on the weekend, we’re struck by the incredible community that rallied around this mission — both in Oxford and beyond.
Oxford, thank you.
Your generosity, your enthusiasm, and your willingness to show up made this milestone possible.
Florida Gator fans — yes, even you — thank you.
Your kindness is proof that compassion truly has no rivalry.
Wildrose Kennels, thank you for advocating for Juice, our Pack Leader, and for giving us so much meaningful time with him.
The Pants Store team — our very first match partners — thank you for believing in this campaign from the beginning. Your early support set the tone for the movement we’re building.
To Jared, Josh, and the entire team at The Velvet Ditch, we owe you the biggest thank-you of all. Your platform gave this mission a home, a megaphone, and the opportunity to secure our first major donor.
And finally…
Coach Kiffin — your share brought our mission to a larger community, and we’re deeply grateful you took the time to support these animals.
What Happens Now?
With funds secured, we’re moving forward with the next steps:
- Coordinating with the UVC lighting provider
- Meeting with the team at the Oxford Animal Resource Center to plan installation
- Continuing to share updates with our supporters
But we want to be clear:
Reaching this goal isn’t the end — it’s the beginning of a movement to create healthier, more sustainable environments for Mississippi’s shelter pets.
The Movement Continues
Our Rescue Revival team is now preparing for phase two of Rebels for Rescue — work that goes beyond the shelter walls and into long-term animal welfare reform.
We’ll be:
• Launching advocacy efforts around ethical breeding
• Addressing Mississippi’s vague and outdated animal welfare laws
• Identifying additional needs within shelters where intervention is urgently needed
Mississippi’s animals deserve better — and with your continued support, we can make that future a reality.
Thank You for Being Part of This
Whether you donated, shared our mission, cheered for Juice, visited our pop-ups, or supported from afar — you are part of this movement.
“Together, we’re proving what’s possible when people unite for animals who cannot speak for themselves.”
There is so much more ahead.
There is so much more we can do.
And we’re just getting started.
