September Rescue of the Month: SOAR

Kicking Off SOARtember with Marshmallow & Lady Jane

Each month, Rescue Revival partners with a grassroots rescue that is doing life-changing work for dogs who deserve their second chance. For September, we are honored to spotlight SOAR (Safe Outreach Animal Rescue)—a Nashville-based rescue dedicated to helping overlooked and special-needs pups find their way to loving homes.

This month’s SOARtember campaign highlights two very special dogs, Marshmallow and Lady Jane, both of whom are waiting for families who will open their hearts and homes to them. With the community’s support, we’re not only advocating for their adoptions but also working to cover the critical resources they need to thrive once they do find their forever homes.

Fundraising Goal #1: Marshmallow’s First Year of Care — $1,200

Marshmallow is a gentle soul with a special heart—literally. He was recently diagnosed with Pulmonic Stenosis, a congenital heart condition. To keep him healthy, Marshmallow takes Atenolol daily, a medication that thankfully is affordable and easily accessible—just over $10 per month (about $150 per year).

The more costly part of his care comes from his annual echocardiograms, which help monitor his condition and can range from $500–$1,000 depending on whether sedation is required. To make sure his future family doesn’t have to worry about these medical costs during their first year together, our goal is to raise at least $1,200. This support will give Marshmallow’s adopters peace of mind while allowing them to focus on what matters most—showering him with love.

Fundraising Goal #2: Lady Jane’s Training Program — $3,500+

Lady Jane is a beautiful, spirited girl who is still waiting for her perfect match. To set her and her adopters up for lifelong success, we’re working to provide 1–2 professional training sessions per week for three months.

Each session costs $150, totaling more than $3,500 for 24 sessions. These sessions will help Lady Jane build confidence and stability, while giving her future family the tools to advocate for her and themselves.

Even more importantly, training can begin before adoption—allowing potential adopters to participate in sessions with Lady Jane so they feel confident about their ability to meet her needs before committing. This ensures that her next home will be her forever one.

How You Can Help

Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to giving Marshmallow and Lady Jane the futures they deserve. You can choose to:

Give to Marshmallow’s Fund ($1,200 Goal) to cover his heart medication and echocardiogram.

Give to Lady Jane’s Fund ($3,500+ Goal) to provide her with a full training program that sets her up for success.

Give to SOARtember as a whole—your gift will be shared between both dogs to support their unique needs.

And beyond donating, you can make a difference by:

Adopting—if one of these amazing pups could be the right fit for your family.

Advocating—share their stories on social media and with your community to help them find homes faster.

Together, we can turn September into SOARtember—a month where Marshmallow and Lady Jane get the support, stability, and love they have been waiting for.
